New exhibitions in London I’ve seen or looking forward to:
Portraits to Dream In | NPG Francesca Woodman & Julia Margaret Cameron. A look at two of the most influential female photographers, a century apart. I really enjoyed this exhibition. Until 16 June 2024. Tickets from £8.50.
Out Shopping | Leighton House. One of the most charming exhibitions telling the fashion story of mother and daughter Marion and Maud Sambourne. It’s also a great excuse to see both Victorian houses Leighton House & Sambourne House with a double ticket for £20.
Enzo Mari | Design Museum. The first UK exhibition of Italian designer Enzo Mari. Considered to be one of the most significant designers of the 20th century. Until 8 September 2024. Tickets from £16.
The Biba Story 1964 – 1975 | Fashion and Textile Museum. This is a nostalgic look at the story of the iconic career of Barbara Hulanicki. Biba was her baby, and it grew from the fashion, to the beginning of what we now know as the “concept store” with her seven storey building on Kensington High Street. This exhibition has it all, fashion, design, mood, including her early illustrations. Until 8 September. Tickets from £12.65.
Apsley House | 1 London. This beautiful historic house stands at London’s most prestigious addresses and there is only one of them. Apsley House has a new small, yet beautiful new exhibition Soldierly Splendour.
Five of The Duke of Wellington’s military dress uniforms, three of which have never been seen in public before, are on display. Yet it is the house that they are in, that dots the eyes and crosses the t’s for me. The rooms are breathtaking and the paintings exquisite.
The Tweed Run This is one dapper cycling get together. The TR cycle through the streets of London in their finest tweed and brogues. It started back in 2009 by the team behind Bourne & Hollingsworth. Expect to see them out cycling in the city on Sunday 27 April. A very dapper addition to the April Super Seven for 2024.

London Marathon 2024 | Sunday 21 April. One of the most inspiring days out. If you are in London, this is a fantastic day out. Head East (Mudchute is a good spot) early on in the day to see the elite runners up-close. Then find a spot near a London landmark to give the runners the extra boost they need to cross the finish line – stop for lunch in between. Map
