When I think of spa days in London, I am immediately drawn to London hotels. The Bvlgari Hotel in Knightsbridge has been on my spa wish list for a long time. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go and spend a morning there.
A sense of calm awaits you
It is considered one of the largest and most exclusive spa’s in London and is designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. It is quite literally stunning.
You find the spa downstairs and immediately walk into an oasis of calm.. and when I say calm it really is. The Bvlgari’s 25m swimming pool itself is a showstopper.
However, don’t let that be the only temptation. Wispy white cabana’s line the pool, with bowls of fruit and nuts that are there to nibble on. There is even a gold mosaic therma pool at one end of the pool, with a steam room and sauna all close by.
Bvlgari pool moments
I spent the first hour enjoying this space all to myself. I couldn’t believe it. The spa opens at 7.30am and I was there for 8am. It began with a seriously long swim, before heading into the gold vitality pool.
I think I counted 5 areas where you could sit and have water pummel your body. It was heaven. I was unwinding at 100mph and loving every second.
Daily news be gone, I’d taken a book to read poolside, but promptly fell asleep. If news is your thing, daily papers are there for reading. At the moment I can’t think of anything worse.
I needed a calm mind, and this was as a spa should be. Quiet, therapeutic, relaxing and calm. If you need anything at all you tap your button for service. Their homemade ginger tea is a thing by the way.
Upstairs they have 11 treatment rooms.. perfect if you are organising a group of you – it means you can all have a treatment at the same time.
I was here for a massage with great expectations, and my lovely therapist didn’t disappoint. Deepal pin pointed within 5 minutes what was wrong and spent my full hour giving me my body back. I can’t begin to describe how wonderful she was. Make a note of her name.. Deepal.
Return to the land of the living with a cup of their homemade ginger tea and feel restored. It was quite simply the perfect way to start the day. Would I do it again? Absolutely, like a shot.
Time your appointment carefully, then head upstairs fully restored for a quiet lunch at Sette. It will finish your morning off to perfection.
