Afternoon Tea couldn’t be more English and more deliciously indulgent. Each year we play host to a whole week celebrating the joy of afternoon tea.
We indulge in the immersive, the elegant, the fish inspired. There is even something for the fashionista’s. Mr B loves his afternoon tea – probably his favourite meal of the day, so I have tried a fair few and this year the choices are fantastic and equally different.
My selection for 2023 is a pick and mix of 7 places in London to enjoy Afternoon Tea week. You can also find an updated afternoon tea guide with many more options on my Instagram Guide page.
Choices for Afternoon Tea Week
A visual feast at The Calton Tower
Probably the most surprising afternoon tea I’ve ever had. A Tribute to Nature is beautifully presented, exquisite decor in the Chinoiserie. It is an unusually different and an afternoon tea that really plays with your tastebuds. One not to be sniffed at, just eaten!
Art at The Rosewood
From our immersive tea last year at The Rosewood, this year the hotel has created an artful David Hockney afternoon Tea. It is inspired by the David Hockney Lightroom exhibition in King’s Cross.
Fun and quirky at Anya Hindmarch
Eyes on the prize with Anya’s afternoon tea. This is a great value afternoon tea at the Anya cafe, in the Anya Village in Pont Street. It is served with the typical fun and quirky twist that Anya is known for. Shopping afterwards is a must!
Get fishy at Bentley’s Oyster Bar.
Yes you read correctly. Bentley’s Oyster bar are offering for the first time an afternoon tea upstairs in the gorgeous dining room. It is fish inspired, and it is so so good. The added extra are the oysters.
Fashionista darlings at The Berkeley
You do not count calories at London’s only fashion inspired afternoon tea. Each season the pastry chef at The Berkeley, creates a newly inspired tea. During the holiday season until 4 January 2024, The Berkeley are serving their festive afternoon tea for £100 including a glass of champagne or a mocktail
Opulent Royal Afternoon Tea at The Ritz
The only hotel in London to have a Royal Warrant for banqueting and catering services, bestowed by HM The King. You also have a choice of 18 loose leaf tea’s, elegant and opulent in the Palm Court.
Design it at The W Hotel
My most recent afternoon tea at The W Hotel, was a showstopper for the pastries alone. A brand new afternoon tea created and designed by Bake Off chef Leyre Pedrazuela Otera for London Design Week. They are as delicious as they look.
Decadent caviar at The Corinthia
Caviar or not, be sure to leave room for the infamous Seasonal Guglhupf at The Corinthia… just saying !
