Lina Stores is one of those little places I’ve seen all over Instagram. A beautiful Italian restaurant in the heart of Soho, that produces homemade pasta, and has done since 1944. Recently when I went to meet the lovely Sian Esther I headed straight to the DELI… argh.. wrong place, so good was the Deli, they’ve opened a restaurant around the corner in Greek Street.
Bar style eating upstairs for all those walk in’s. With such a beautiful open window, I was quite envious of the guy sitting outside enjoying the sunshine on his back as he ate – life can be so perfect sometimes can’t it?
Downstairs we had a look at the menu and decided even though the plates were small to share, we couldn’t go for the plate amount recommended.
What did we eat at Lina Stores:
Instead we went for the crab linguine, and in the waiter’s, words the ‘King of all pasta’s’, Agnolotti verdi with truffle. We added a Bandiera salad & a polpette di melanzane.
Every dish was melt in the mouth delicious, polished off with the typical Italian limonata. It was so hot on the day we went we didn’t go for pudding, just a simple coffee – again from a Italian restaurant this should be tip top and it was.
The décor downstairs is tiled and a little clinical, with no natural light. As it was one of London’s hottest days outside, it was a relief. Our waiter was super friendly, service was spot on, and I loved it so much I’m going back there again this week. I’ll find any excuse for a meeting here, and this time I may even swing back past the deli and bring some home.
Verdict for Lina Stores:
Service: 10/10
Food: 10/10
Ambiance: 8/10
Drinks: 9/10
Value for money: 10/10
It was good value, but we didn’t have pudding, and what we ate was more than enough. You could eat more, and you would love everything.
